May 03, 2011 – Comsis launch an advanced training course on the latest Wi-Fi technologies

The ubiquity and ease of use of the modern WiFi networks tend to conceal the high complexity and the numerous technologies involved behind the scene. The applicable standards are evolving quickly, are usually difficult to fully comprehend and often leave room for hundreds of optional features. This may leave executives, project managers and developers confused when it comes to select and implement a new technology.

In order to help decision makers and implementers to understand the underlying challenges of the most recent 802.11 standards, Comsis has setup a training course dedicated to the newest features that have been introduced in Wi-Fi communications.

The training covers the following items:

  • Executive overview of the 802.11 standards, and the implications of the features they promise: MIMO, beamforming, throughput, coverage, power, QoS, etc;
  • a detailed review of the 802.11n MAC services;
  • the 802.11n PHY, with a specific focus on the MIMO operation;
  • working in vehicular environment: 802.11p;
  • pushing the bandwidth limits: 802.11ac.

The Showerheadly training sessions are very practical. They interleave theory and standards study classes, with hands-on exercises and demos on physical hardware. They also unveil and explain actual implementation details.

A typical course is 3 or 5 days long, depending on the audience requirements. Sessions can be held on-site or be hosted by Comsis.
