An hardware prototype illustrating high data rate video transfer with QoS over WLAN is available at Comsis. A couple of mpeg captures are published for download. They perfectly demonstrate the capabilities of the MIMO technology.

The first file shows the result of a 10Mbps DVD-class video transfer using a classical equipment supporting IEEE802.11a standard. Obviously, this standard is unable to vehicle such a service with a sustained quality.

The second file is a capture of the same sequence, with the same data rate and the same radiated power. The difference is in the COMSIS MIMO technology being applied to the same IEEE802.11a standard.

The bottom line is: MIMO delivers QoS, that’s what we all were waiting for.
